According to the network, it is an interfaith love story that tells the tale of Jacob Fisher (David Julia Hirsch), an Orthodox Jewish Cantor and amateur songwriter from Brookly, New York and Nina (Toni Braxton), a single mom who is the lead singer in a gospel choir.

The two are joined together after  Jacob witnesses the tragic and gruesome murders of his wife and three children, he flees New York, strips himself of his Jewish faith, and wanders aimlessly, struggling to understand the tragedy that befell his family.

His journey lands him in Brent, Alabama where he is “embraced by Nina, her Uncle Moe (Mykelti Williamson) and their gospel community who help his return to life while music brings Nina and Jacob together as they try to make sense of his past and their possible future.”

Making her debut on Lifetime Movie Network, this role should come easy for Toni to play as she herself is a daughter of a former pastor and grew up in the church.

The film premiers on Lifetime February 9.
