Black Church New Years Eve Highlights

Black Church New Years Eve highlights this year includied a life saving heroic act, a new look for Eddie Long and even an engagement proposal right from the pulpit.

  1.  A Heroe

A man with a semi-automatic assault rifle walked into a downtown Fayetteville church during a New Year’s Eve prayer service.

The church’s pastor is City Councilman Larry Wright.

The incident at Heal the Land Outreach Ministries, off Campbell Avenue, ended peacefully, although many of the 60 members in attendance were startled, and at least one person — a pregnant woman — slipped out of the service.

Wright said he was able to calm the armed stranger, take away his weapon and then pray for him before Fayetteville police officers arrived.

Someone had seen a man anxiously pacing outside before the man with the rifle entered at about 11:40 p.m. as Wright was delivering the sermon.

The man then said to the audience that the Lord had told him he needed to go to church before he did something bad.

Bishop Eddie Long, preached a strong message and sported a new look during his Watchnight Service on New Years Eve!  Not only was his message strong and impacting but his attendance was good as well.  Whatever one may think about Bishop Eddie Long, they can not argue that he was always and continues to be  a good pastor to his sheep.  Let’s just keep it real, if Eddie Long was not a good pastor to his sheep, prior to his scandal, they would not have stuck with him, Come on now we are talking about Black Folk in the Black Church not a cult, like some would have you to believe .  Quiet as its kept there are a LOT of black Churches involved in a Lot of shady things so lets not throw stones cause who knows, the house you are worshiping in may be made of glass.

I pray God’s continued blessings upon Bishop Eddie Long’s life and ministry.
