When They See US, A Must See for Everyone!

When They See Us is a mini series that had the same effect on me that Roots did many years ago!

If you have not had the opportunity to watch When They See Us, you must do so as it will leave you speechless.  I don’t know why I was so shocked because we have been seeing small bits and pieces of how law enforcement often treat people of color, but this right here, takes the cake.Michael K. Williams, Niecy Nash and Marsha Stephanie Blake play the parents of Korey Wise and Antron McCray in ‘When They See Us.’ Watch as they discuss how parents with limited resources can easily make the same mistakes their characters did.

After watching this movie, I wanted to know more, so I did some research and found a video interview of Ken Burns who Co directed the first documentary surrounding this horrific coverup. While and it was this documentary that helped these men get the exposure initially needed to be reach a 41 million dollar settlement with the city of New York and of course no official apology.

Well, thanks to Ava DuVernay and Ken Burns, the message is being seen and talked about all over the world! Ken Burns film helped the men get a 41 million dollar award for their pain and suffering and Ava DuVernay is truly given voice to the voiceless and helping these men reclaim their lives, dignity, faith and respect. BRAVO!!! And praise God once again for reminding us
“He May Not Come when we want him to come, but God is ALWAYS right on time!
