Mary J. Blige’s soon-to-be ex-husband Kendu Issacs claims he has been unemployed since their divorce case was filed, and he blames it on Blige trashing him in the press and in her music.
After airing out her former manager for cheating on the latest album, Strength of a Woman, Issacs says no one wants to deal with him professionally.
According to Bossip, before the former couple engages in a bitter court battle, Blige and Issacs are attempting to hash out a settlement during a “mandatory conference.” If they cannot reach a solution regarding the division of property, shared funds, etc, their divorce case will head to trial in March 2018.
“Blige filed for divorce in 2016 from her husband of 15 years, accusing him of misappropriating more than $400,000 of her money on his mistress. A judge has ordered her to pay Isaacs $30,000 a month in temporary spousal support.”
According to documents obtained by TheBlast, Issacs accuses his ex of profiting from their divorce drama through to two released songs, “Love Yourself” and “Set Me Free,” which are now known as “divorce songs.”
“Isaacs says he has been unemployed since the divorce case was filed and claims Blige is trashing him in the press, hindering his ability to get a job,” claims a source.
The father of three is now demanding a judge increase his spousal support from $30K to $65,000.
