Kirk Franklin House of Blues Brunch to Feature Tye Tribbett


The next Kirk Franklin House of Blues Brunch will feature none other than Tye Tribbett, according to gospelflava


Kirk Franklin and the House of Blues Entertainment announced its newest endeavor, “Kirk Franklin Presents Tye Tribbett”.  The tour, starting in July will feature the Grammy winning Tribbett at selected House of Blues venues across the country.  The tour is an extension of Franklin’s collaboration with the House of Blues to create a new Gospel brunch experience as part of its year-long 20th Anniversary Celebration that began last year.

“This is a great chance to share the gift of a spectacular talent like Tyewith gospel fans throughout the country in a fresh new show that is unlike any production we’ve ever seen,” said Franklin.  “It will be a special experience.”

Tyrone “Tye” Tribbett (born January 26, 1976) is an American gospel music singer, songwriter, keyboardist, choir director and founder of the Grammy-nominated and Stellar-Award winning gospel group Tye Tribbett & G.A. (short for ‘Greater Anointing.’)

Tribbett toured with Faith Hill in 2000, leading to work with Will SmithUsherDon HenleyJustin Timberlake, andSting.[1] He has since released four albums. Tye Tribbett has recently released his new single, “If He Did It Before (Same God)” on iTunes. His new album, “Greater Than” was released August 6, and earned him two Grammy awards.

Personal life

Tribbett was raised in a Pentecostal Apostolic church in Camden, New Jersey. His father is a pastor and his mother is a minister as well as a well known disc jockey in the Philadelphia area. He is married to Shanté Tribbett, who was a member of Greater Anointing, and they have two daughters together. He also has a brother, Thaddaeus, who is part of the band ‘Soundcheck’ and is now the current bassist for artist Estelle. Tye also has two sisters; one sister, DeMaris, also sang in Greater Anointing.
