Well, first John Gray gets evicted from his church property in Greenville owned by Robert Carpenter earlier this month and if that is not bad enough, it appears OWN is now throwing his own book at him.
According to several reports, The Book of John Gray will be canceled. While it is not confirmed his current court problems surrounding the eviction are part of the problem, who can only come to terms with the fact that OWN may not want that kind of real-life drama hanging around their camp, after all, they have Greenleaf that fills that role for the network.
Of course, a spokesperson for John Gray is saying, that he and his wife Aventer, were already considering other TV and film endeavors (ok John!), Whatever Chile.
Now yall know I ain’t one to gossip, but I am so glad that the eviction is not for nonpayment of rent, ‘Cause, I am sure Saints was wondering if John Gray gifting his wife with a Lamborghini Urus worth well over $200,000 made Ron and Hope Carpenter just a tad mad when they weren’t getting their rent payments on time. John Gray caught a lot of flack for that one, but he did set everybody straight on that backlash noting:
“First of all, it wasn’t a pastor that bought the car. It was a husband that bought the car. Get that in your spirit,” he said. “I’m a husband first. Don’t confuse what I do with who I am. What I do is I pastor God’s people. Who I am is a husband and a father. And I’ll do anything to honor them. And I won’t ask permission from anybody to do it. No man should.”
Word on the street is that John Gray did not even show up for church on the Sunday morning when allegedly the eviction papers were being served and the cameras rolling, he did take to Facebook making a video announcement stating:
“I want to reassure you once again that all of the things that you are hearing, please remember, I have not changed and we have not changed our stance. We have paid what we owe according to our agreement, and everything is going to be shared at the right time through the proper legal channels. But until then, we, the Relentless Church, will continue to have service and we will maintain the moral high ground. I am greatly grieved that there would be anyone or any spirit that would seek to harm the church openly in the name of Jesus,” Gray insisted.
“I will leave all of that up to God, and I will do what is in the best interests of our church, which is serve Jesus, meet the needs of the poor and be … the hands and feet of Jesus in our community.”
He went on to explain that he was not in church on Sunday because he had a pre-planned commitment with his wife, Aventer, “before there was a setup with a camera to serve papers to our church.”
allegedly, he said he was tempted to interrupt his time with Aventer to address the situation directly but feels “confident not only in the power of the living God to cover and protect His church, I am also fully confident in the leaders that we have in Relentless Church on a pastoral level and on an eldership level that God is going to continue to cover what belongs to Him.”
And of course, the deacons and ministers did what they normally do, put on the full armor of God and addressed the congregation and support of the Pastor with boldness.
All I can say is keep them in prayer, yall, cause that is a lot of drama going on right now in the Gray family.
