Big Shout out to Jennifer Hudson on  receiving an acclaimed Hollywood  Walk of Fame Star!

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Oscar and Grammy Award winner Jennifer Hudson received the 2,512th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In a tear-filled ceremony, the multi-talented star saw her star unveiled at 6262 Hollywood Blvd. in front of the W Hollywood Hotel on Wednesday.

“I knew I would get emotional. I’m sure my mama is in heaven saying, ‘Jenny stop crying.’ But now is the time to cry mama,” Hudson said.”I’m so honored to be here with so many that I love, and I feel as though we’re all family.”

Later this month, Hudson returns to the big screen in the film “Black Nativity.” It will be her first musical since her Oscar-winning performance in her film debut in “Dreamgirls” in 2006.

Hudson rocketed to fame on “American Idol” in 2004, although she finished in seventh place.

She won a best rhythm and blues album Grammy in 2009 for her self-titled debut album. Her second album, “I Remember Me,” was released in March 2011 and was certified as gold by the trade organization the Recording Industry Association of America.

Hudson’s other film credits include “Sex and the City: The Movie,” “The Secret Life of Bees,” “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete” and “Winnie Mandela.”

“Just got my star on the #WalkOfFame!! Such an honor,” the Dreamgirls star captioned an Instagram shot of herself posing with her star and honorary plaque.

“I didn’t sign her to a recording contract at the very beginning,” he recalled. “But when I saw her, I saw her screen test for Dreamgirls, I knew that she was truly a unique, original artist whose career would be nothing short of spectacular so I did sign her, then…I was stunned by her acting range, she was the real deal…and that voice. I had been privileged over the years to work with two of the greatest voices of all time: Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston. I never thought I’d hear another voice to compare and yet staring me in the face was a new voice that did compare. It literally sent shivers up my spine.”
