While many turned up at the 2017 Celebration in Minneapolis, others had either fallen into obscurity or their whereabouts were unknown.

And sadly, Prince’s longtime drummer, John Blackwell, succumbed to complications from brain tumors in 2017 and of course, Denise “Vanity” Matthews his former lover and actress/singer in her own right, died in 2016.

One of Prince’s most popular collaborators, Rosie Gaines, has seemingly been out of the spotlight for some years. Rumors said that she was homeless and suffering from mental and health issues. She did respond to Prince’s passing on her Facebook account in 2016, though that post has since been deleted. Gaines album The Arrival was released in 2015, along with a video appeal to assist with undisclosed issues.

The PRN Alumni Foundation, a Minneapolis-based group of hundreds of people who once worked with Prince at Paisley Park during his 37-year career, is releasing a T-shirt to assist with Rosie’s care. ALL sales of the shirt will go directly to Gaines.
