Elijah Cummings sends a message, Hold on Young Man!

Baltimore’s Congressman Elijah Cummings, 64, sends a message to Jamal Bryant to hold on, don’t put the cart before the horse, I have NOT made up my mind and will NOT do so for several weeks.

Congressman Elijah Cummings who is Baltimore’s beloved held a news conference hours later at Coppin State University to say he has not made up his mind. The top-ranking Democrat on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee said he has no plans to do so for several weeks.

When Dr. Jamal Bryant made his announcement earlier in the week, Elijah Cummings sent a statement earlier Monday to make that same point — that he hasn’t made a decision — under letterhead that referenced the “campaign to re-elect” Cummings to the House.

“Anybody who assumes that I will not be running for the 7th Congressional District of Maryland is making a definite, premature assumption,” Cummings said. “I’m going to do what I have to do, no matter what.”

Cummings has long been considered a formidable potential candidate in the race to replace Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski, who will retire in 2017. Polls show that he is well-known statewide, extremely popular in the Baltimore region and that his support transcends racial lines.

From what I have been reading  Dr. Bryant REALLY got to call on Jesus and pray that Congressman Cummings moves toward the Senate chair cause it ain’t looking good for him  if Congressmen Elijah Cummings decides to stay in his, sure nough, seat in Congress.   Though this ain’t none of my business, I think it would have only made sense for Dr. Jamal Bryant  to have a conversation with Congressmen Elijah Cummings before making this grand announcement don’t you?  Something just don’t seem right about that statement.

You didn’t take the time to have a conversation with a beloved Congressmen that I am sure at least one of your advistors mentioned would be almost impossible to win yet, Dr. Jamal Bryant is putting election signs out in front of his church, Chile, I pray the the IRS is not getting ready to move in on all of our black churches, somebody please tell these young preachers/activists that the MAN will come knocking at your church door and ours!  There is are several costs churches have to pay to avoide paying taxes and one of the most important rule is very clear, the church cannot be involved in politics.

Chile, I am sure Senator Grassley is feeling like a child in a candy shop right about now.
