Billy Knight Goodbye Message Before Committing Suicide (video)
Former college Basketball player, Billy Knight, was found dead on the side of a road in Phoenix, Arizona, just days after he released this disturbing video where he expressed feeling remorse about having lived “a life of sin.”
Billy Knight, who was only 39 years old, was found unresponsive early on a Sunday morning and pronounced dead by the Phoenix Fire Department a short time later, PEOPLE confirms.
There are currently no signs of foul play, Sergeant Vince Lewis of the Phoenix Police Department told PEOPLE, and Knight’s cause of death is now being determined by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner.
The former basketball player’s death comes just weeks after he was charged with six felonies for the sexual abuse of a child, PEOPLE confirms.
I pray for his soul and the families affected by his actions and death, it is also so sad that he did not seek help for his mental well-being. One thing that hits home in the African American community that Billy Knight mentions in his goodbye video is that African Americans are greatly underserved with regard to the awareness and treatment of Mental Illness, this must end. We have to take care of our mind, body and Soul yall.
