Prince’s Half Sister Sets Record Straight On His Favorite Color
A second Prince sibling would like to set the record straight about the late singer’s favorite color.
Prince’s half-sister Sharon Nelson has come forward in the wake of reports from his only full sibling, Tyka Nelson, who claims that his favorite color was not purple, but orange.
As previously reported, Tyka told the London Evening Standard in a story published Aug. 21 that though people have long associated purple with her brother, he preferred orange.
Well, that was news to Sharon.
In a statement to The Associated Press on Thursday, she noted, “contrary to what has been said, purple was and is Prince’s color.”
The eldest of Prince’s siblings, Sharon says though the late icon “was fond of many colors in the rainbow, he especially loved the color purple because it represented royalty.” She also said, “the color purple always made him feel Princely.”
