Bishop Paul Morton took to twitter toady to blast the Grammy’s for hosting a mass marriage ceremony last night as well as challenging pastors to “Come out of the Closet” when it comes to dealing with this moral issue of same-sex marriage (ssm). He also referenced the Grammy’s failing to acknowledge the gospel category winners.
First the recap of the Ceremony held during the Grammy’s in case you missed it:
As reported by Daily Mail:
Thirty-three gay and straight couples were married live at the Grammy Awards last night in an emotionally-charged performance celebrating a year where the Defense of Marriage Act was struck down and scores of states legalized same-sex unions.
Queen Latifah officiated the mass wedding during Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ powerful rendition of their song ‘Same Love,’ which has become a marriage equality anthem.
Following the vows, delivered as the stage was transformed into a makeshift church, with an alter and stained glass windows, Madonna, wearing a white suit and hat, performed ‘Open Your Heart’ to a standing ovation and tears from not just the brides and grooms but celebrity guests including Keith Urban.
Lewis’ own sister Laura even was part of the mass wedding, tying the knot with her boyfriend, Alex.
Queen Latifah was recently deputized by Los Angeles County to legally conduct wedding ceremonies and will sign the marriage certificates for each couple. The lovers stood on platforms in the crowded venue as they exchanged rings and said ‘I do’ during the performance.
Now that you have the recap, let’s get back to Bishop Paul Morton’s brave and courageous stance against this movement. Bishop Paul Morton has never been one to sit back and just let things go on because it may not be the most politically correct thing to do. He is a true servant of God and that is why he is one of our most beloved pastors. He keeps us focused on the WORD of GOD and not Man!
While many Pastors will say it is a crying shame behind closed doors, they dare to speak against SSM in their pulpits for fear of backlash, Bishop Morton has challenged them to “Come out of the Closet” He took to Twitter this morning stating:
“Preachers who claim 2 Represent God it’s time 2 come out of the closet. ((SSM) on family TV was over the top we should b blowing twitter up”
“Preachers what are we saying? God I don’t agree with you on this one preaching against (SSM) call me 4 easy stuff. Get somebody else 4 this”
“The world has many influential people speaking 4 (SSM) what they want but not a lot of influential preachers talking about what God wants”
“I’m still in LA 6:00am here I’m going back 2 sleep 4 a little while b 4 catching my flight home I woke up mad at the devil”
“People of God this is not about a popularity contest this is about saving this Nation with the truth of God contest”
“‘I Give the gay rights community credit they fought 4 their rights until they changed minds. When will we fight 4 God until we change minds
— Bishop Paul Morton (@BishopPMorton)
Bishop also blasted the Grammy’s (thank you Bishop) for not even acknowledging the Gospel category winners, noting:
“Gospel winners are not announced nor invited to perform. Yet they got a rapper to represent .”Yes unfair”
Showing true leadership, Bishop Morton did have a few pastors support him this morning by offering to join him in combating this movement including:
‘It says what they think of our music! It’s a wake up call to take control of the fruit of our Kingdom culture!; Frank Reid, III (@PastorFrankReid)
“Bishop, can we work together in unifying fellowships in an effort to turn the tide against these degrading morals? Dr. J Tylor Thompson (@KingdomVictory)
@BishopPMorton, Bishop D. Sinegal & Bishop BK Williams are on board, amongst other episcopates. Numbers growing fast. Tylor Thompson (@KingdomVictory)
And that is why Bishop Paul S. Morton is “The Pastor of All Pastors” He does not just talk he makes things happen, May God continue to bless you Bishop Paul Morton, your ministries and all Saints striving to live on Kingdom principles!
One love,
