A man made a post on Instagram expressing his love for his wife’s “curvy body“. What was supposed to be a happy and appreciative post turned into harsh backlash from the Instagram community.
Robbie Tripp is an author and public speaker who regularly post pictures of him and his wife.
According to the Metro, Tripp says that he’s always been attracted to curvy women since he was a teen.
In his post, he states that, “I was often teased by my friends for my attraction to girls on the thicker side, ones who were shorter and curvier, girls that the average (basic) bro might refer to as “chubby” or even “fat.”
As he got older he learned about how media body shames women and how it doesn’t recognize all shapes and sizes. After realizing that he no longer cared what anyone thought about him.
When he met his wife Sarah, he explained in another post that he didn’t fall in love with her for her looks, but that it was her confidence that he feel in love with.
For all the harsh backlash Tripp was receiving, he received a healthy amount of commenters that were happy and encouraged by his post. One woman commented,”Thank you for giving any women who read this new found confidence and self-worth.”
