Pastor Marvin Winans, brother of BeBe and Cee Cee and eulogist at Whitney Houston’s funeral was robbed and car hijacked by a Detroit Gang.
The savages (lets keep it real, they don’t deserve the respect to be called anything other than that) knocked him to the ground, kicked him as they stole his Infinity, his rolex watch and cell phone.
Pastor Marvin said in his interview that God did not give him a spirit of fear and he was not afraid while the young men were beating and robbing him. He said that called on the name of Jesus and after calling His name twice the gang members stopped beating him and ran. Once again there is power in calling on Jesus! Watch:

LAS VEGAS — Along with gold records and number one songs, the secular music world can be synonymous with addiction.
R&B superstar Chaka Khan even called the industry “demonic” following the tragic death of her friend and fellow music icon, Whitney Houston.
“This machine around us, this so called music industry is such a demonic thing,” Khan told CNN’s Piers Morgan shortly after Houston’s death. “It sacrifices people’s lives.”
Gospel music legend Helen Baylor once sang backup for Chaka Khan. Baylor recently spoke with CBN News for an extended interview in Las Vegas at Xartis Studios, a new facility that shows young people how to use music to cope with mental and emotional challenges.
“When [Chaka] said that, I sat there in my bed and just said, somebody gets it,” Baylor said. “Somebody else gets it … there is a demonic component in the industry, fueled by greed, money.”
“People have no regard for anybody else, except for the bottom line, the money,” she said.
Baylor’s Broken Road
Baylor took on the demons of the secular music world and drug addiction in the early days of her career as a secular music performer. She shared the intimate details of her troubles, trials, and triumphs in her memoir, No Greater Love: The Helen Baylor Story.
Baylor is also at work with producers to turn that memoir into a feature film.
“My life has been something from the beginning,” Baylor said. “I don’t complain. I am not angry.”
Helen Baylor talks more about her testimony of deliverance from prescription drug addiction.

Pat and Cissy Houston to star in a Lifetime Reality Show, “The Houston Family Chronicles” I am surprised that Cissy would agree to a reality show, it appeared to me that she was not fond of the media at all.
Allegedly, the show will revolve around the family dealing with Whitney’s death and managing her estate. Really? Is this the same family that had a fit over Whitney’s funeral photo being sold to the media. This kind of makes you second guess the rumors we heard about Whitney being the entire families breadwinner. It’s sad that she still has to have that role even in death.
Please continue to keep this family in your prayers as they struggle with the loss of Whitney who clearly, meant more to them then we will ever know.

(AP) – A reality show featuring Whitney Houston’s relatives, including daughter Bobbi Kristina and mother Cissy, is in the works.
A Houston representative confirmed the Lifetime show, The Houston Family Chronicles, on Friday.
It will focus on Pat Houston, sister-in-law and manager of the late singer. Pat Houston is also helping care for Whitney Houston’s only child, 19-year-old Bobbi Kristina.
The show promises to feature Bobbi Kristina and Cissy, as well as Houston’s cousin Dionne Warwick, gospel singer CeCe Winans and other members of the Houston family.
Whitney Houston drowned in a bathtub in February at age 48 in Beverly Hills, Calif. Authorities said her death was complicated by cocaine use and heart disease.
Pat Houston, Whitney Houston’s brother Gary and Bobbi Kristina spoke about Houston’s death in an interview with Oprah Winfrey on Winfrey’s OWN network in March.
Cissy Houston, also a singer, put out her first new music in over a decade on iTunes this week. Cissy, Gary and Bobbi Kristina are expected to appear Saturday in Newark, N.J., at a gospel tribute to the late superstar as part of the annual McDonald’s Gospelfest concert.
Jermaine Paul, winner of the second season of “The Voice,” made sure to thank Jesus after his competition was eliminated on Tuesday night.
After Paul won the competition, he thanked fans of the show who voted for him, his wife and family. However, he gave a special thanks to Jesus Christ.
“God bless y’all, man,” Paul said. “Nobody but Jesus, man, nobody.”
Paul’s wife could be seen sobbing in his arms as the winner closed the show with his rendition of singer R. Kelly’s “I Believe I Can Fly.”
Blake Shelton, country music artist and Paul’s mentor in the competition, seemed to believe Paul would win after hearing the singer perform the same R. Kelly hit on the show Monday night.
“Jermaine Paul dug down deep,” Shelton said. “[It was] the performance of his lifetime. He won.”
Shelton said he believed in Paul’s abilities to do anything he put his mind to “because of his talent.”
“He’s figuring out what he wants to do, and he can do anything,” Shelton said.
However, the competition was no landslide for Paul. When it was time to announce the winner of the competition, host Carson Daley admitted that there was only a four-percentage voting difference between Paul and the other finalist, Juliet Simms.
Fans took to Twitter to express their happiness for Paul, whose profile on the social media site describes him as “destiny driven.” One of Paul’s fans is entertainment mogul Queen Latifah.
“Jermaine Paul! ‘The Voice,’” Latifah tweeted. “Congrats my dude!”
Chris Mann, another competitor on the show on Christina Aguilera’s team, said he was happier for Paul than he would have been for himself.
“Jermaine’s my best friend on the show. He was my roommate on the show,” Mann said. “I could not be happier for him. I think I was almost more excited that he won than myself.”
Paul used to sing backup for Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and producer Alicia Keys who also took to her Twitter page to congratulate the singer.
“Jermaine Paul deserves all of this,” Keys tweeted after the show. “He has more talent in one hand..congratulations brotha! Shine, Shine, Shine!”
After the competition was over, Paul said he felt blessed and felt the need to continue glorifying God.
“I feel blessed. God is good,” Paul said. “It’s such an amazing feeling to know that you’re here not because of a coach or a person or a producer, but you’re here because America said, ‘Hey dude, you’re the guy.’”
While many Pastors of Black Churches made clear their disapproval of President Barack Obama’s affirmation of Same Sex marriage, many were careful not to place an opinion one way or another. I guess they wanted to play it safe since everything is placed on a video camera today.
For instance, President Obama’s position on same-sex marriage has slowly changed from seeing marriage as a union between a man and a woman to publicly embracing gay marriage six months before the 2012 elections. (May 10, 2012).
THhs video shows his opinion on same-sex marriage from 2004 – 2012.
Gospel Singers Mary Mary announced on Good morning America on Friday that WE Tv has picked up their show for a second season and mentioned on their blog that more than 11 million people tuned in for their first season and they are excited to learn that people enjoy it. Check out their promo on their new CD project “Go Get It”
Rev. Jamal Bryant, Pastor of the Empowerment Temple in Baltimore, Maryland tells CNN that Come Sunday, black churches in America will be divided over President Barack Obama’s decision to affirm Same Sex marriages. Watch:
I know its’ not friday , but I just had to put this Church Gossip video up tonight. Watch this you tube video I found and see if you see yourself anywhere in it? I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry it is so true about church folk, Watch:
I guess Rev. Billy Graham showed Bill Clinton that he is still a force to be reckoned with, even in politics. Not only did North Carolina pass the Anti Gay marriage amendment, they even made same sex unions illegal. President Clinton fought for the bill to pass in favor of gay marriages, saying it would hurt North Carolina’s economy, while Rev. Graham took out a full page ad saying marriage should be between a man and woman.
A proposed amendment to North Carolina’s constitution which would make marriage between a man and woman the only legal union recognized by the state has passed a statewide vote, the Associated Press reports.
The referendum- North Carolina Amendment One- goes a step beyond outlawing same-sex marriage, which was already illegal in the state. The law decrees that “marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State”- meaning that civil unions and potentially other types of domestic partnerships will no longer be legally recognized.
With a little over 43 percent of precincts reporting, support for the amendment was strong- with about 61 percent of North Carolina voters casting their ballots in favor of the amendment, and roughly 39 percent voting against it.
There is some uncertainty among legal scholars in the state as to the extent of the law, and what types of partnerships might be affected, as the terminology in the amendment- domestic legal union- has not appeared in North Carolina statutes previously.
“The language ‘domestic legal union’ is not used in North Carolina statutes or in North Carolina case law,” said Jean Cary, professor of law at Campbell University in Raleigh, N.C., “so it is totally undefined.”
The North Carolina Democratic Party released a statement saying that Tuesday’s results were a “setback” but that Democrats in the state would continue to fight for “equal rights.”
“Tonight’s results are an unfortunate reminder that the fight for Civil Rights in our state is not yet over. Writing discrimination into our Constitution is wrong. The State Constitution exists to protect the rights of our citizens- not to take them away. Despite this setback, north Carolina Democrats will continue to fight for all of our citizens” the statement said.
Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council- a conservative Christian organization- released a statement applauding the vote.
“We applaud North Carolina voters for joining voters in 31 other states upholding the historic and natural definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman” the statement said. “At every opportunity, the American people have demonstrated a deep appreciation for the unique benefits that marriage between a man and a woman brings to families and society. They recognize that marriage is the only kind of union that results in natural procreation and keeps a mother and father together to raise the children produced by their union.”
North Carolina had previously been the only Southern state that did not have a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage. Some 29 states already have statutes or constitutional amendments outlawing same-sex marriage. Additionally, in Hawaii, the state legislature has the power to define marriage, though the state does not currently explicitly ban same-sex marriage. North Carolina will now become the 30th state with such a law. Same sex marriage is currently legal in six states, plus Washington, D.C.
The passage of Amendment One is not necessarily a harbinger of bad things to come for Obama and the Democrats in the fall. This type of legislation has not always fallen along red and blue state lines. Constitutional amendments banning same-sex marriage have passed in several blue states including Oregon, Maine and California.
Don’t tell me that speaking the name of Jesus is not powerful. Thanks BCNN1 for sharing this video of an armed robber who came into a store owners shop, pointed a gun in her face and demanded money.
The Shop owner looked the gunman in the eye, pointed her finger at him and said, “In the name of Jesus you get out of my Store, and you know what, the fool left the store.
Well, he was in the news again, this time in an exclusive report on ABC’s NIGHTLINE
According to ABC, The SEC claims Taylor spent his investors’ money on his car payments, credit card bills and rent on a New York City apartment. The SEC also alleged that he doled out cash to make a splashy music video starring his wife, Meshelle, draped in white fur and diamonds. The name of the song? “Billionaire.” (SMH)
Everyone has heard by now that Pastor Mason Betha, “Mase” a multi-platinum selling rapper from the late 1990s who retired from the music industry 13 years ago to become a pastor, is returning to the hip-hop scene once again.
How many times is this now? its been so many returns, I can’t keep up!
I wonder if his allegedly owing the IRS has anything to do with his decision to return to Rap/hip-hop.
My question to Pastor Mason Betha: Are you going to actually leave the pulpit to return to the hip-hop scene?
After reading the lyrics in a new remix, “Slight Work” which by the way Mr. Rapper turned pastor now rapper again, says some really disrepectful things about the church body, it appears to me that if your intentions are to stay in the pulpit, you may have referred to your congregation members as broads and cult members? (SMH)
CLB family yall know what do do, PLEEZE place Mase on your prayer list and call his name at the Altar on Sunday
In a new remix to rapper Wale’s song, “Slight Work,” Betha uses a plethora of religious themes as metaphors in his rhyme.
“..Getting money like I’m jewish/…got a cult following of bad broads like i’m Buddhist,” Betha rapped. ” ..Think your (crew is staying foolish) if your crew don’t have a Judas/ Get you wetter than a venue… howling like a Hindu.”
Hip-hop fans took to Twitter to offer mixed reactions to Betha’s comeback, after the rapper-turned-pastor initially retired in 1999.
“I can’t take Mase serious on this “Slight Work” remix,” one person tweeted. “Dude was just a preacher or something.”
However, some enjoyed Mase’s apparent return to Hip Hop.
“Mase’s verse on slight work remix gives me chills,” a fan tweeted. “Yes Pastor Betha!”
In a TBN interview in 2005 after Betha, 34, first tried to re-emerge from his initial retirement back into a rap career, he spoke about the people who worried about a return to Hip-Hop pulling the pastor away from his Christian calling.
“Why is it Christians are more confident in the Devil taking me more than Christ keeping me,” Betha questions. “What I have inside of me is more powerful than anything the world could ever offer me.”
Betha asked Hip-Hop radio DJ Funkmaster Flex for help with a comeback in a radio interview last month where he spoke about his initial choice to leave the rap industry alone to honor God as a preacher.
“I thought I could do more than rap and I just so happen to be right. I see different artists making clothing lines and people respected it,” Betha said in the interview last month. “Rap has always been about using your talents for doing more. I’m just the one that got criticized for doing more than was unexpected. I think I overachieved.”
Still, Betha, pastor and founder of El Elyon International Church and Mason Betha Ministries, said he regretted transition from a rapper to pastor.
“I didn’t give myself any room to grow, I went from one extreme to another extreme,” Betha said about his initial choice to retire from rapping and become a full time pastor. “I was just so gung ho about what I was learning, that’s all I wanted.”
Although Betha admitted that people had the right to judge his decisions, he said they should move on since so much time has passed.
“I went so hard in one direction that people had things to say and rightfully so,” Betha told Flex. “I don’t blame them for that (but) it’s been 13 years, let’s move on.”
Although, the pastor said he would pick God over music if given the choice again, he asked for prayers while entering back into the rap world with no restrictions.
“I’m taking all the limitations off, they’re gonna have to pray for me,” Betha told the Hot 97 radio personality.”If I had to pick the two I’d still pick God over music any day.”
