It seems to me that this Same Sex marriage issue is not dying down at all.  Now the coalition of black churches has denounced the NAACP move to endorse Same Sex Marriage.

I agree with the black coalition that the church should NOT endorse same-sex marriage, however, I do believe that the NAACP has every right to fight for a persons civil rights.

I don’t see how the church allowed itself to be pulled into this debate.  Clearly Gays should be awarded the same benefits and rights as any other taxpaying individuals, this my friends is a  civil rights issue not a religious issue and in my opinion,  if Pastors want to get in the political arena then they should relinquish their pulpits and become politicians.

I love my gay brothers and sisters and Lord knows there are many in my church and family.  As a Christian, I don’t condemn them, I show them mercy and leave the  judgement  up to God.  At the same time, the LBGT community  should not expect Christians  to  judge or endorse sinful behavior, period.

As far as pastors marrying Gays. As a Christian, I would not want my Pastor to conduct a same-sex marriage    I would expect my pastor to minister and council all persons dealing with any type of sin, including homosexuality, just as Jesus would.

A coalition of black churches has denounced a move by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People to endorse same-sex marriage.

The NAACP passed a resolution this weekend endorsing same-sex marriage as a civil right and opposing any efforts to “codify discrimination or hatred into the law.”

The action comes a week after President Barack Obama came out in support of gay marriage.

The NAACP’s board voted at a leadership retreat in Miami to back a resolution supporting marriage equality, “calling the position consistent with the equal protection provision of the U.S. Constitution.”

“The mission of the NAACP has always been to ensure political, social, and economic equality for all people,” Chairwoman Roslyn M. Brock said in a statement.

“Civil marriage is a civil right and a matter of civil law. The NAACP’s support for marriage quality is deeply rooted in the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution and equal protection of all people,” NAACP President Benjamin Jealous said.

Rev. Anthony Evans, with the National Black Church Initiative, opposed the president’s and the NAACP’s endorsements of same-sex marriage. He warned that Obama and the NAACP will lose support among black churches for their stand.

“We love our gay brothers and sisters, but the black church will never support gay marriage,” Evans said. “It is and always will be against the ethics and teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

The National Black Church Initiative is a faith-based coalition of 34,000 African American and Latino churches comprised of 15 denominations.

    Its up-lifting to me to read how there are those who won’t compromise the Word to be popular. This site is a support system for all who hold to God.

    THE WORD IS OUT!!!! . . . .A BIG, BIG, BIG RALLY IS BEING PLANNED ON WASHINGTON; 1,000,000 CHRISTIANS FROM THE U.S. AND THE WORLD OVER TO DESCEND ON, BUT MOSTLY TO PRAY FOR AMERICA!

    It’s time for what AAs that will to come together with other Christians (Catholic, Evangelicals, Jews, whites, browns, yellows, etc.) to uphold the Word of God. This can’t be about race this time.

    May God give us 1,000,000,000 saints to show up. I will RSVP with more details soon. Prayer warriors, saints of God, . .we are willfully ignorant if we don’t know the devil has declared open war on us with this gay and abortion agenda being forced upon us in America and even at the United Nations by our Democratic Party and the White House, too.

    p.s.: I loved PO since ’08 and the Democratic Party for over 20 years, but I don’t know who these people are anymore. I’ve been in such sorrow over it all.

    Oh well, . .guess I’ll have to mourn for Saul, ( uh, . . Barack and/our party), later. Time for us to fill our horns with oil and anoint ourselves to spiritual warfare.

    The fact that persons make the choice to engage in unnatural sexual behavior and want to call it a Civil Rights issues is insulting to on Black past of those that died and marched in mob crowds.They were not marching because of sex and behavior but because of skin color and discrimination against humanity because of race. This Gay movement is a clever trick and wile of Satan that he has turned the population against the Churche’s teaching and God’s direction. Our President is wrong.The states are wrong that endorces it and the NAACP is definately wrong. The NAACP may try to focus on some real issues like poverty and black male in prison and unwed mothers ,instead of having Image Award and showboating in politics. I have cancel my membership!.

      There is not a living soul that can agree with the idea of same sex marriage and call themselves a christian cause if they do they are liars and there is no truth in what they say . Any one who makes laws to supersede God’s laws , do not believe in his word and if you don’t believe in his word you don’t believe in him , because God is his word an to deny his word is in essence denying God . Any man who thinks that he can take God’s law and cast it aside to make laws to satisfy the wiles of satan is an idiot. As Christ said in Matt: 10- 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men ,him will I also deny before my Fatherwhich is in heaven. so people to deny God is to deny Christ because they are one and they are the second part of the Godhead and the Holy Spirit is the third partand the three are one . I would not want to be in the shoe’s of anyone that has said yes to same sex marriage , not even the President, where is this leading the nation ? I’ll tell you where !!!!!!!! straight to HELL !!!!!!!!!!!!!! but before they reach there , the WRATH OF GOD AWAITS and it just might be right around the “CORNER”My devout christian brother’s and sister’s I would like to ask everyone to study the end time prophecies, there is a lot of end time word out there .         I read your comment more thoroughly this morning and one point really stood out. “Where is this leading the nation” was both prophetic and discerning.

        Orthodox Christians’ (and Muslims’ and Jews’ for that matter) religious freedom is being hijacked by the Administration’s hard and relentless push to give the gay community total sanctification and validation. The gay electorate has completed its take over of the Democratic Party, after gaining its sure footing under Clinton.

        If we just open our eyes a little and do minor research the truth is there. Hillary’s speech at the UN declared that a nation’s religious freedom cannot trump these new ‘rights’ for gays” world-wide in the future. Google it.

        Had our churches’ bishops, pastors and denominations not spoken up immediately, they would have watched this steam-rolling agenda stomp out the church’s voice. Unfortunately, that includes teachings in the church against homosexuality which would ultimately be an punishable offense. And that’s where all of this is ultimately going, let’s not play stupid.

        PO’s open support could cost him a 2nd term, so why “put such an inflammatory issue out there” unless an “over-powering” faction or influence didn’t demand it from him? DADT wasn’t far enough, federal benefits, hospital visitation, . . not far enough. When did this president give himself over to this group, who knows. How can anyone doubt this is so?

        That’s why this is not about “civil rights.” Its a blatant frontal assault to dismantle the influence of God, and as AA believers we have to stop being naive about this. Gays are counting on Barack to finally overthrow these last few barriers to “equality”. What they really mean is disagreements to their agenda. People, we never had a black president. We, (our voting strength), was used to further the causes and demands of others while our communities’ needs still go unheard.

        The NAACP has forgotten its twin sibling, the church, born from the same womb, nursing at the same breasts. Gays have payed for their name and image too, as irrelevant as it has become. ‘Our?’ president and ‘our?’ oldest advocacy group belong to the homosexual community now. Shame on them all for betraying us, the black church and our joint legacy.

        Greetings and Salutations in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ : to you Dee and all like mined Christians who will not deny God and his word because as it is written , God and his word are one and the same entity, so christians just remember when we do anything to go against God’s word we are going against God !!!!!!!! and to stand in unison (agreement) with any one individual or any organization that advocate same sex marriages is going against his will !!!! which also is his word, In the book of Mark,chapter 3 verse 28-reads as follows , 28- Verily I say unto you all sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme. # 29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Ho’ly Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation , Brother’s and Sister’s understand that The Father, The Son and the Ho’ly Ghost are one and they are inseperable. I wrote those two verse’s for something for every chrstian to give serious thought about who we follow . One last thought !!!!!! This economy is not about man but about the preparation fo the ( RETURN OF CHRIST) because we have entered into the (END OF THE AGE ) that Bible Prophecy speaks of BLESSINGS!!     The Church IS the Light of the World! A city that sits on a hill can not be hidden! It is the duty of the church to speak out on isssues involving sin and life issues of the world.The is not to hide in the pews and sing on Sunday.That is why the world is going to Hell because the Church has kept silence and lost its effect in the society.Marriage is a religious institution of the Church that was first established by God.It is between a man and a woman.God has not sanctioned Gay marriage or Gay couples. It is sin. Plain and simple.No hate just truth! God will hold every Christian responsible that close their eye to this issue and willanswer in judgmeant one day!

    Anyone that advocate same sex marriage is sadly going astray and to advocate such a law is to go against God’ law which is for ever settle, as he made woman for man to be his companion that is why he took the rib from adams side so that woman would be not in front of man or behind man but to be by man’s side as his (HELP MEET) and for the two of them ,(man and woman) to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth , According to God’s word (As it was in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah so shall it be in the last days ) and anyone that Partion, Vote, or even just agree with the idea of man and man or woman and woman lying together as one is like selling their soul to the Devil just for the pleasure of having an “UNGODLY” union . This message is for Christians because the BIBLE was written for the believer and the unbelievers shall perish and all those that stand with them .
